Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress who hails from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. Jacqueline's dad Elroy Fernandez is a from Sri Lanka. Her siblings include two brothers and an older sister. The 80s were the time when her parents emigrated to Bahrain because of civil war over Sri Lanka. In the end, she was both born and raised there. In Australia she pursued a degree in Media and Communications at University of Sydney after completing her studies in Bahrain. She also attended in the Berlitz school of languages which helped her improve on French, Arabic and Spanish. In addition, she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th, 2006 and also was a contestant at Miss Universe 2006. After winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone started her career in the world of television. She hosted the television show Lanka Business Report which focused on Sri Lankan Business. Padukone is the daughter of the badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and grew up in Bangalore. In her teens she competed in national championships of badminton at both the regional and international level. But, she resigned from the sport to make a profession as designer. Padukone hails from Mangalore and her mother language is Konkani. Her lineage hails from Padukone village located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District of the State of Karnataka, India. Prakash Padukone is her father as well as a former badminton pro of international fame. Her mother works as a travel agent.
